That would explain why the credit are on a beautiful landscape from high above. Which is why the ambience is lighter, he "finds" his family, which are alive but forgiving him (I guess?), and he is pushed back because he is dead as opposed to his family, but still free from the house purgatory. I believe if he did kill his family prior to the suicide the gun would be missing 3 bullets.Īt the end, he did face his sins, got tormented by them, and is now accepting and moving forward. Reliving his suicide and unable to face his sins, getting stuck at the bottom of the well with a fresh apple, denying his actions as opposed to the rotten apple we see in the water treatment plant tape.

Because of the lake/lighthouse scene, I do believe that if he did in fact kill his family, that scene would be on the lake with the others, not only his suicide.Īlso, when you go into the basement, back into the table and revolver room, it takes a big focus on the fact the revolver is full as he is about to kill himself.

He interpreted that as him "killing" his family. My guess is that his addiction and behaviour pushed his family away, so he was eventually left alone in the house.

We see him in front of the TV drunk and stuff. We see the countless people in pain affected by his medication/water poisoning. That tape shows his "sins" or wrongdoing. At one point, in one of the tapes, we got into a cave with a lake and lighthouse. Once he stopped and retired, he started going deep into alcohol and medication, to the point of addiction as shown during the game. I think that as you said, he did do some bad stuff involving the medication and the water poisoning to the other characters, Lucy, Dolores, Rose and the probably many others. Sry for the post necro, but I had a theory I'dd like to run by you.īasically, Dwayne did not kill his family, but did obviously suicide. I still haven't figured it out, but maybe you can. Where is Johnny? What happened to him? Why does his name keep popping up? The other kids in the photos are Michael and a girl whose name is Susan or something. However he could not have been Dwayne's son I think (though he may be Dwayne's grandson.) And additionally, there are only two children's rooms in the house. If you look at the back of some of these photos, you'll see his name. It is also heavily implied in photographs found around the house that Johnny is one of three children in a family that lived in the house. You may be aware, but the trophy for finding the pick axe in the prison videotape is called gift for Johnny, or something along those lines. Maybe you can find out more with some investigating. I think you're right about most of this stuff, even the stuff that doesn't have "proof." I'm glad to hear you mention Johnny on the tea key.
